What Is Moon+Star? Meet the UK Jewellery Brand for the Maximalist State of Mind

If your jewellery box is mostly tiny gold hoops and one very sensible chain, Moon+Star might be about to cause a problem.

Moon+Star is a UK jewellery brand built around colour, stacking and wearing considerably more jewellery than is strictly necessary. Think colourful enamel bangles, chunky rings, statement necklaces, charms and pieces designed to be mixed together rather than worn politely on their own.

Basically, minimalism had a good run.

So, what is Moon+Star?

Moon+Star is an independent UK jewellery brand founded by Eva Dabrowska and Jack Ralls in 2024.

The brand started with one idea: jewellery should be fun again.

Instead of building collections around barely-there basics, Moon+Star creates colourful jewellery with a nostalgic, slightly 2000s feel. The kind of pieces you notice in an outfit immediately.

Our whole world sits under one phrase:

MAXIMALIST STATE OF MIND.

It doesn’t mean putting on every piece of jewellery you own before leaving the house. Although we would support that.

It’s more about not being scared of colour, mixing things that technically shouldn’t go together and choosing jewellery because it makes an outfit more interesting.

The bangle obsession

If there is one thing Moon+Star has become particularly obsessed with, it’s bangles.

Our collections include colourful enamel bangles, stainless steel bangles and traditional Chinese cloisonné bangles, with designs made to be worn alone or stacked together.

A Moon+Star stack might be cream and pink one day, silver and blue the next, then five completely different colours because apparently we have abandoned restraint.

And that is sort of the point.

We don’t think there is one correct way to build a bangle stack. Mixing colours, metals, textures and patterns is what makes it yours.

Chinese cloisonné bangles

Some of the most distinctive pieces in our collections are our Chinese cloisonné bangles.

Cloisonné is a traditional decorative technique with a long history in Chinese craftsmanship. Fine metalwork is used to divide areas of a design before they are filled with coloured enamel, creating the detailed patterns associated with cloisonné jewellery and decorative objects.

We love these bangles because they feel completely different from mass-produced, plain jewellery.

They’re colourful. They’re detailed. They have history behind them. And every pattern brings something different to a stack.

Selected Moon+Star Chinese cloisonné bangle sets also include a history card sharing more about the tradition behind the jewellery.

For us, it is important that these pieces aren’t reduced to just another “vintage-inspired” trend. Part of loving a design is knowing where it comes from.

Jewellery made for stacking

We design a lot of Moon+Star jewellery with other Moon+Star pieces in mind.

Our rings can be layered together. Necklaces can be worn at different lengths. Bangles are designed to sit alongside contrasting colours and finishes.

That eventually led us to create Stack & Save, our online bangle stacking experience.

It lets you build your own bangle stack and experiment with combinations rather than trying to imagine how five different product pages might look together.

Very serious technology for the very serious task of deciding whether your pink bangle needs a blue friend.

Is Moon+Star jewellery waterproof?

Many Moon+Star pieces are made from stainless steel, including a selection of our bangles and other jewellery. These pieces are designed to be durable and tarnish resistant, making them a good option for jewellery you want to wear regularly.

Not every Moon+Star product is made from the same material, though.

Our enamel and Chinese cloisonné pieces have different materials and care requirements, so we always recommend checking the Materials & Care information on the individual product page.

We would rather tell you exactly what something is made from than put “waterproof” across an entire website when it doesn’t apply to every single piece.

Is Moon+Star a UK jewellery brand?

Yes. Moon+Star is a UK-founded independent jewellery brand.

The business was founded in 2024 by Eva Dabrowska and Jack Ralls and has grown through social media, online drops, pop-ups and an increasingly large community of people who apparently agree that one bangle is rarely enough.

Moon+Star has appeared at pop-ups and events around the UK, including London, Manchester and Brighton, while our online store ships Moon+Star jewellery to customers internationally.

Where is Moon+Star jewellery made?

We work with specialist manufacturers in China and India to produce different Moon+Star collections.

Different products require different processes, materials and expertise, so we don’t pretend everything comes from one mysterious workshop.

Our collections include pieces made using stainless steel, enamel, zirconia, acrylic and other materials, alongside Chinese cloisonné jewellery produced using traditional decorative techniques.

We work directly on our designs, colours, sizing and product development with our manufacturing partners, and we’re continually developing new pieces and improving existing ones.

Who is Moon+Star jewellery for?

Technically? Anyone.

But if your saved folder contains colourful jewellery, 2000s fashion, charm necklaces, stacked bangles, giant rings and outfits where the accessories are doing most of the work, you’re probably already a Star Girl.

Moon+Star is especially loved by people looking for jewellery that feels playful rather than precious.

Something you can build an outfit around.

Something your friend immediately asks about.

Something that makes a white T-shirt considerably less boring.

What jewellery does Moon+Star sell?

Moon+Star’s collections include:

  • colourful enamel bangles and bangle sets
  • Chinese cloisonné bangles
  • stainless steel bangles
  • stackable and statement rings
  • pendant and layering necklaces
  • earrings
  • charm jewellery
  • jewellery sets and curated stacks

New designs and colourways are released throughout the year, with a particular focus on pieces that can be mixed with previous Moon+Star collections.

Because buying a new bangle is much easier to justify when it already matches the other four.

Why Moon+Star looks a little different

We never wanted Moon+Star to feel like a traditional jewellery shop.

The internet has enough beige websites.

Our online store takes inspiration from the internet and games we grew up with, including our retro-style Stack & Save experience. The aim is to make shopping for jewellery feel playful again rather than scrolling through an endless grid of products on a white background.

That same idea carries into the jewellery itself.

Colour is allowed.

Big pendants are allowed.

Gold and silver can be mixed.

Your rings don’t have to match.

And your bangle stack definitely doesn’t have to make sense to anyone except you.

Welcome to the Maximalist State of Mind

Moon+Star has changed a lot since we started in 2024, but the idea behind it hasn’t.

We want to make jewellery that gives you an excuse to have more fun getting dressed.

Maybe that’s one colourful bangle.

Maybe it’s six.

We’re not here to judge.

Welcome to Moon+Star.

MAXIMALIST STATE OF MIND.
