All Moon+Star bangles are designed slightly differently, so the way you measure depends on the style.

Our standard bangles have an internal diameter of 6 cm, with selected styles also available in our new 4.5 cm petite size.

Which bangle type do I have?

Closed bangles

These are solid bangles with no opening or hinge. They need to slide over the widest part of your hand to reach your wrist.

How to measure: Bring your thumb towards your little finger as if you were putting on a bangle, then measure around the widest part of your hand.

6 cm diameter = approximately 18.8 cm internal circumference. If your hand measurement is close to this, the bangle may feel snug when sliding it on.

Hinged bangles

These bangles open at the side, so you do not need to squeeze them over your hand. Open the bangle, place it directly around your wrist and fasten it closed.

This makes our hinged bangles suitable for a wider range of hand sizes than our closed styles. For the best indication of how the bangle will sit, measure around your wrist where you normally wear your jewellery.

Adjustable bangles

Our adjustable bangles open to make them easy to put on and can then be gently closed tighter around the wrist for a more personalised fit. This means the listed diameter is the bangle’s starting size rather than one fixed fit.

How to measure: Measure around your wrist where you would like the bangle to sit.

Adjustable styles are ideal if you prefer your bangles to sit closer to the wrist rather than move freely up and down your arm. Only adjust your bangle gently and avoid repeatedly bending it further than necessary.

Classic

Our classic size and the fit used across most of our bangle collection.

Internal diameter: 6 cm / 60 mm

Approx. internal circumference: 18.8 cm / 188 mm

Petite

A smaller, closer-fitting option designed for petite wrists. 

Internal diameter: 4.5 cm / 45 mm
Approx. internal circumference: 14.1 cm / 141 mm

How to measure

• Closed bangle: Measure around the widest part of your hand.
• Hinged bangle: Measure around your wrist.
• Adjustable bangle: Measure around your wrist. The bangle can then be gently adjusted for a closer fit.

Use a soft measuring tape. If you don’t have one, wrap a piece of string around your hand or wrist and measure it against a ruler.

Inner diameter means the straight-line distance across the inside opening, excluding the bangle’s thickness. Palm breadth is the straight-line width across your hand, not the measurement around it. These measurements are not interchangeable. If you already own a comfortable bangle of a similar style, measure its inside opening for comparison.

Hand shape, knuckles and flexibility affect fit, so measurements cannot guarantee a comfortable fit. Never force a closed bangle over your hand. When stacking, allow comfortable room for movement and consider trying one bangle before building a stack.
